2024 King Estate Sauvignon Blanc
-
Tasting Notes
-
Tropical and citrus fruit notes greet the nose, with hints of citrus blossom, pineapple and lime zest comingling with green apple, yellow plum, green grass, boxwood and peach. Flavors joining in on the palate include guava, nectarine, lemon lime, basil and crushed slate rock. The palate explodes with bright acidity and layers of complex fruity flavors.

Vineyard Notes
-
King Estate has crafted a uniquely Oregon style Sauvignon Blanc that showcases our favorite characteristics of this varietal from the two regions in the world most famous for it: New Zealand and Sancerre in France. New Zealand brings fresh, fruit-forward flavors. The French style is rich with more minerality. The result is a wine that just might redefine how we think about Sauvignon Blanc.

Winemaker Notes
-
The wine was fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel, a concrete “egg” vessel and neutral oak. Cool fermentation slows the process to allow flavors and aromatics to develop. To build richness, the wine underwent weekly bâtonnage, or stirring of the lees.
