2024 King Estate Artisan Series Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes

Fruit, floral and herbal notes greet the nose, bringing to mind juicy dark berry fruit of raspberry and marionberry, leather, oregano and thyme, orange zest, coffee, violet, cocoa, graham cracker and a hint of minerality. A full, robust palate overflows with flavors of berry cobbler, black cherry, fresh blueberry, dark roasted coffee, toasted hazelnuts, cedar and jammy dark fruit. The flavors of this well balanced wine melt into the tongue, ending in a long, lengthy finish replete with notes of fruit and barrel toast.

Winemaker Notes

Whole clusters were destemmed, then allowed to cold soak for 48 hours with daily pump overs. Fermentation was in stainless steel open top tanks with daily punch downs. Aged 10 months in French oak barrels, 25% new.
