Tasting Notes

This wine boasts a delicious arrangement of aromas and flavors, starting with a nose of nectarine, white peach, pear, lemon zest, apple blossom and honeysuckle. Medium bodied and fruit forward, this wine is bright and full on the entry, showing flavors of lemon and grapefruit zest, nectarine, damp slate and honeysuckle. As acidity and texture combine with the fruit, a crispness appears for a prolonged finish.

Vineyard Notes

Goschie Farms in Silverton, Oregon, can trace its roots back to its founding in 1885. The fourth-generation 1,000-acre farm grew primarily hops until 2005 when the Goschie family first planted about 60 acres of wine grapes specifically destined for King Estate wine. This Pinot Gris is from clone 146, an early ripening grape which originated in the Alsace region in France.

Winemaker Notes

The fruit was whole cluster pressed, racked and settled, then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Aged sur lie seven months in stainless steel.
