Tasting Notes

The unusual pale pink color is the first indication that this is a skin-contact white wine. Fresh strawberry on the nose is joined by aromatics of raspberry, lemon, lime and rose with some spiciness. Elegant flavors of red fruit like strawberry and raspberry accompany the citrus and floral notes. Crisp acidity and flavor complexity come together for a lengthy and refreshing finish.

Vineyard Notes

The 7 Rows label debuted with a Pinot Noir in 2016. Now King Estate is introducing the first 7 Rows Pinot Gris, grown on seven rows in Block 12B along the drive near the entrance to our estate. Conceived by third-generation family member Justin King, this wine was produced in collaboration with the King Estate winemaking team.

Winemaker Notes

About half the fruit was crushed, destemmed and cold soaked for five days on the skins. Next, the must was pressed off the skins and the juice was fermented cool in stainless steel. The other half was crushed, destemmed, then fermented on the skins (like a red wine). This allowed for additional extraction and flavor complexity. Blended and aged in stainless steel with weekly bâtonnage.
