2021 King Estate Eola Springs Pinot Gris
-
Tasting Notes
-
On the nose the wine reveals delicate floral fragrances and notes of lemon and green apple with some pear and orange rind. Fruit flavors of lemon, green apple and citrus on the palate create a full, fruity mouthfeel with balanced acidity and ample texture. Citrus and spice linger on the palate for a satisfying finish.

Vineyard Notes
-
Eola Springs was established in 1972 and has 100 acres planted with nine different varietals. This vineyard is nested in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. At between 300 and 450 feet in elevation, the vineyard features a number of different soils, from silty deposits left by the great Missoula floods to Columbia River basalt. Diversity makes this vineyard tremendously complex with blocks varying by slope, aspect and soil. Sharp diurnal swings make for cool nights and warm to hot days during the growing season.
