Tasting Notes
-
A light garnet color in the glass, this wine first impresses with vibrant aromas of raspberry, red currant, plum, sweet earth, cigar box, tobacco, rose and tea. On the palate, the wine boasts multiple layers of flavorful fruit accompanied by bright acidity. Notes of fruit and a touch of cedar from barrel aging come through as the wine comes to a savor-worthy finish.

Vineyard Notes
-
One of the state’s legacy vineyards, Chehalem Mountain Vineyard was planted in 1968, decades before the Chehalem Mountains AVA was formed in 2006. Just 20 miles long and five miles wide, the region is known for producing classic Oregon Pinot Noir. A 70-acre vineyard with diverse and well-drained soils, Chehalem Mountain produces wine of intriguing complexity and intense red fruit flavors with great aging potential.

Winemaker Notes
-
Whole clusters were destemmed and cold soaked for 48 hours with daily pump overs. The wine was fermented in a stainless steel open top tank where it was punched down twice a day before being drained off the skins and put down to barrel for secondary malolactic fermentation. Aged in French oak for 18 months, 38% new.
