2019 King Estate Paradox Pinot Gris
-
Tasting Notes
-
On the nose find delightful aromas of clove, pear, cocoa butter, vanilla, lemon oil, sweet oak, wildflowers, nutmeg and marmalade. The entrance is crisp, boasting flavors of pear, clove, pineapple, lemon, peach, guava, damp slate, toast, vanilla and fresh-baked brioche. On the mid-palate, the wine exhibits roundness and structure from short barrel aging. The finish is refined with great length.

Vineyard Notes
-
This artisanal small-batch wine was crafted in the spirit of exploration and inquiry. Should oak never touch even a drop of great Pinot Gris? Or should we never say never? For King Estate, which has become synonymous with un-oaked Pinot Gris, this wine is a contradiction – a paradox.
