2018 King Estate Steiner Block Pinot Gris
-
Tasting Notes
-
Made from estate-grown, 100% Biodynamic fruit, this wine was aged six months in our concrete fermentation vessel known as the egg. Concrete imparts a nice minerality with notes of wet stone and slate while showcasing King Estate’s classic bright acidity on the finish. Peach, lemon blossom and honeydew on the nose are augmented by pear and apple on the palate to make a rich, textured Pinot Gris. Located in the southeast section of the vineyard, Steiner Block was planted in 1992 and is among the oldest blocks on the estate. Enjoy now through 2025.

Vineyard Notes
-
Steiner Block is a tribute to Rudolf Steiner, the founder of the Biodynamic® approach to agriculture. Sourced from a very small lot on our estate vineyard, this Pinot Gris is certified Biodynamic for both the agricultural and winemaking process. Our winemakers aged this wine in our concrete “egg” tank for added complexity, texture and enhanced minerality.
