2018 King Estate Johnson School Pinot Gris
-
Tasting Notes
-
Fruit from Johnson School’s 2018 vintage was so exceptional that King Estate chose it for a Vineyard Designate Pinot Gris. Aromatics of peach, lime and pear mingle with notes of white pepper and wet stone. Luscious and soft up front with a mid-palate that is round and coating, this nicely balanced wine is fresh and lively.

Vineyard Notes
-
In 2009, Johnson School Vineyard planted Pinot Gris for us and ever since has produced excellent fruit from this lower elevation site sitting at 265 feet in the Chehalem Mountains. The wine has good depth, satisfying mouth feel and a lingering finish. Notes of peach, lime zest, jasmine and wet stone give way to a hint of pear at the end.
