2017 King Estate Seven Rows Pinot Noir
-
Tasting Notes
-
The nose is perfumed rose petal, candied raspberries, cedar, forest floor, dry tea leaves and sage. Fresh roses and raspberries continue on the entrance. On the mid-palate, bright acidity and elegant tannins bring out earth tones and damp slate, flavors that linger through the finish.

Vineyard Notes
-
This wine was crafted by third-generation family member Justin King, using certified Biodynamic® grapes exclusively from seven rows planted to clone 115 on Block 11A at King Estate. It was fermented using naturally occurring yeast, aged in French oak for 18 months and left unfiltered.

Winemaker Notes
-
Grapes underwent a 48-hour cold soak with daily pump overs. For further concentration of flavor and color, 10% of juice is bled off the red wine during fermentation using the Saignée method. Native fermentation occurred in a stainless steel open top tank with daily pump overs. 20% of the grapes were fermented as whole clusters. Aged sur lie for 18 months in 25% new French oak barrels; stirred weekly. Wine saw minimal intervention throughout the process and is unfined and unfiltered.
