2017 King Estate Quintessence Cabernet Sauvignon
-
Tasting Notes
-
On the nose find blackberry, currant, cedar, black cherry, espresso, leather and fresh rose petal. Silky and supple tannins up front give way to more structured tannins with a round mid-palate, showcasing sumptuous flavors of blackberry pie, crème de cassis, black cherry, rose water, espresso, leather, cocoa nibs and cigar humidor. Balanced acidity combines with lengthy tannins for a lasting finish. The wine will continue to evolve and improve with aging.

First planted in 2010 with 68 acres, Quintessence has grown to more than 300 acres planted with red wine grapes.

Fermentation took place in stainless steel open top tanks where it was cold soaked prior then punched down twice daily during fermentation.
