Tasting Notes
-
A bright ruby color in the glass, this wine is resplendent with dark fruit notes of black cherry, blueberry and cassis, along with strawberry, rose water, graham cracker, pomegranate, clove, sweet oak, toast and wet stone. On the palate this wine is round and juicy with acidity and tannins that are grippy and chewy.

Vineyard Notes
-
The Hagen family presides over its vineyard at Antiquum Farm in Junction City, Oregon, not far from King Estate. It is a high elevation site with Bellpine soils. Winemaker Stephen Hagen is committed to a farming philosophy that is grazing based and free of outside influences such as fertilizers or composts. Draft horses take the place of tractors; all labor is by hand, one cluster at a time. With the mindset of "make it yourself or do without," the family's reverence for the land hearkens back to traditional, sustainable farming methods.
