Tasting Notes
-
This wine is a bright yellow straw color in the glass. The nose is a delightful bouquet of peach, tea, papaya, honeysuckle, lychee, rose, nutmeg, vanilla and limestone. Crisp acidity and good weight up front lead to a mid-palate of balanced roundness and body from oak aging. Discover flavors of pear, lychee, white pepper, nutmeg, papaya, crème brulee, toast, olive and coconut shavings. The finish is lush, complex and satisfying in length. This wine is a bright yellow straw color in the glass. Vineyard Notes
-
This is a classic Rhône-style Viognier from Quail Run Vineyards in Oregon’s southern Rogue Valley. Grown at higher elevations, the fruit thrives in the cooler climate. The blend of two lots, one fermented in stainless steel and the other in some new oak, brings out floral aromatics and flavorful notes of tropical and stone fruits.
-
Winemaker Notes
-
The wine was fermented 68% in barrel and 32% in stainless steel. Aged sur lie for nine months. The barrel component was aged in French oak, imparting greater weight and spice notes to the finished wine, while the stainless-steel component keeps the wine fresh and focused.
