Tasting Notes

On the nose, aromas are of honeydew, guava, papaya, nectarine, lemon oil, honeysuckle, kiwi and damp stone. The entrance is fresh and bright, featuring flavors of honeydew, key lime, pineapple, nectarine, kiwi, white pepper, crème and lightly toasted oak. On the mid-palate the wine becomes round and rich from fermenting and aging in concrete. The finish has balanced acidity with notes from the barrel-aged portion that come through with cream and light toast, all culminating in a long and elegant finish.

Vineyard Notes

Croft Vineyard is one of the most distinguished sites for Sauvignon Blanc in Oregon. Located near Monmouth, Croft Vineyard has been organically farmed by three generations of the Croft family for three decades. Southeast-facing slopes sit at 400 feet in elevation on a bed of Bellpine soils.

Winemaker Notes

The wine was fermented and aged half in the concrete “egg” vessel for four months. The other half was fermented in French oak barrels. Aged seven months sur lie.
