2023 King Estate Inscription Pinot Noir
-
Tasting Notes
-
This is a big, bold Pinot Noir that opens with bright, uplifting aromatics of raspberry, cranberry, marionberry and some leather, orange zest, rose and caramel. This wine does not wait to develop on the palate – rather, it opens robustly with a rush of dark fruit and delicious cocoa notes. Initial flavors of black cherry, raspberry, cocoa and red plum are joined by juniper berries, forest floor, clove, spice, cedar and tobacco. The flavors continue to linger through a satisfying finish.

Winemaker Notes
-
Each lot was fermented in small batches. Select lots underwent whole cluster fermentation – some destemmed and some with stem inclusion. Clusters were cold soaked for 48 hours with daily punch downs and pump overs. For further concentration of flavor and color, as much as 10% of the juice was bled off using the Saignée method. Fermentation was in stainless steel open top tanks with daily punch downs and pump overs. Aged eight months in French oak barrels.
