Tasting Notes
-
From one of the Willamette Valley’s most storied vineyards, this special Pinot Noir is a gorgeous crimson in the glass. If crimson had a fragrance it would smell like the nose on this wine – juicy blueberry, dry strawberries and allspice along with notes of green tea, toast, crème brulee and even crushed gravel and forest floor. The entrance is austere yet enticing, with supple and lengthy tannins to build structure and fullness that extends to the finish. Aged 12 months in 32% new French oak. Enjoy now and at least through 2028.

Vineyard Notes
-
Located west of Salem, Oregon, near Monmouth, Croft Vineyard has been a King Estate partnering vineyard since 1992. These southeast-facing slopes sit at 400 feet in elevation on a bed of Bellpine soils.

Winemaker Notes
-
The 2016 Croft Pinot Noir underwent a cold soak and numerous punch downs to maximize ideal color and tannin extraction. This wine was fermented in an open top, temperature-controlled stainless steel tank before being aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 26% which were new.
