Tasting Notes

Crimson with purple hues in the glass, the nose is rich with strawberry and black cherry along with dusty earth, pomegranate, marmalade, leather, anise and hints of Christmas spices (allspice, clove and nutmeg). Supple tannins on the entrance become dusty and structured on the mid-palate. On the finish lingering notes of Christmas baking spices create a well-rounded, complex wine.

Vineyard Notes

This Estate-Grown Biodynamic® wine is from one of the vineyards’ oldest blocks, Block 2B, planted in 1992. Located in the southern tip of the vineyard, the Dijon clone 115 vines are “own-rooted,” not grafted, in Bellpine marine sedimentary soil that allows for especially deep rooting. Enjoy the rich aromatics this clone is known for.

Winemaker Notes

Fermentation occurs in stainless steel open top tanks with daily punch downs. All winemaking practices are certified Biodynamic, including native fermentations (primary and secondary) with minimal intervention throughout. Aged in French oak barrels for 19 months, 30% new.
