2021 King James Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
-
Tasting Notes
-
This elegant wine is full bodied, showing vibrant fruit and excellent balance. The nose brings an array of pleasing aromatics – marionberry, blueberry, cassis, raspberry, sweet earth, cocoa, toast and a bit of cedar. On the palate discover flavors of dark berry fruit, berry cobbler and cocoa with some tobacco, dried aromatic herbs and cedar. The structure is firm and well built, with a satisfying palate on the finish.

Vineyard Notes
-
Made with 100% estate-grown, certified Biodynamic® grapes. The wine carries a time-honored name with deep roots in King family (and English) history. Calling this special Pinot Noir “King James” seemed a fitting tribute to our commitment to family as one of our founding principles.

Winemaker Notes
-
Whole clusters were destemmed and cold soaked for 48 hours with daily pump overs. The wine was fermented in a stainless steel open top tank where it was punched down twice a day and fermented on the skins to dryness. It was then pressed off the skins and put down to barrel for secondary malolactic fermentation. Aged in French oak for 18 months, 38% new.
