Tasting Notes
-
This is deep, dark and diverse from every aspect. Starting off with a vibrant dark violet color, the nose explodes with blackberry, black currant, toffee and nutmeg. Rich flavors of tobacco leaf and blackberries dominate the palate with elegant edges of plum, violets and cedar. There are layers of structure, supported by racy acidity, rich fruit and silky tannins. Enjoy now until 2025, or longer.

Vineyard Notes
-
North by Northwest was founded in 2005 by the King family with the vision to handcraft varietally pure wines from the finest vineyards in Walla Walla Valley and Columbia Valley AVAs, which straddle the border of Washington and Oregon. We partner with like-minded vineyard owners, with an eye on sustainable viticultural practices. Our guiding principle is simple: produce a quality wine, for wine lovers. Fruit for this wine comes from three outstanding Walla Walla vineyards: Seven Hills, Los Oidos and Les Collines.

Winemaker Notes
-
2014 Walla Walla Syrah was cold soaked for extraction, then punched down, and pumped over throughout fermentation. For optimum flavor and body, the grapes underwent delestage, and saw an extended maceration. Aged 21 months in French oak, 35% new.
